Got plans this weekend yet? Maybe it's a drink with friends, or someone in your circle is having a party. We know how it goes. People talk trash to you no matter where you come from. Sucks, but people get ugly sometimes. So how do you spot the people who are lying to you right out the gate? I always wondered if there were ways to tell, and after searching the web I found the ways to spot those people who just want to talk S#!T on you at a party. This should help out with your weekend plans.
7) I've been meaning to watch that!
No you haven't. If you actually wanted to watch something you would have watched it by now. So why lie to my face?
6) We're Just Casual
If you have to say after a few drinks that your "Situation-ship" is just casual...IT'S NOT. You're not only lying to yourself, now the booze has that person spilling the beans on what's really going on.
5) I don't really drink like that.
Sure, having a drink is cool. But when they lie and say "I'll have just one", you know that really means "I'll have one....every 45 minutes till I forget my name." Lies!!
4) I Remember You!!
LIES!! You do not remember that random person. Not even a little bit. But they seemed excited to see you, so now you’re 15 minutes into a conversation, praying they say their name on accident. Just don't lie and start fresh.
3) Work Is Going Great
When you talk about how great your job is going at a party, normally it's a lie because you hate your job. No need to lie, just say you keep your head down and you're working your way up the ladder. Split from the question and flip it on them. No need to lie about work when drinking is involved.
2) I'm Not Really On My Phone That Much
People that know you, know that this is the worst lie you can tell to someone. EVERYONE is on their phone way too much. It's almost like another full time job.
So what is the number 1 thing people lie about when they're at a party??
1) This outfit? I just threw this on.
Lies. You tried on 6 shirts and hit countless stores. So why lie when you put the hard work in on putting yourself together. Just say thanks, and stop fishing for compliments.
If you have plans this weekend. Don't lie, just be honest. The reason you got invited was because they already like you. Not because you lie to them.
