The weekend is here, and after you get some relief from the work week you might feel a little sick. What's a few drinks between friends right? You end up with a hangover, and it won't let up because you really went on a tear. How do you get rid of your hangover?
Here are some foods that might help get rid of the sick feeling.
Eggs.
This has long been a favorite among foodies as one of the best foods for hangovers.
Eggs claim the top spot across more than half of the lists we looked at during our search for the best foods for hangovers, and for good reason. Not only do they taste great, but eggs are packed with essential vitamins and nutrients that aid your body in recovering from too much alcohol the night before.
Bananas.
Another one that works to the next day is potassium, bananas. Bananas and other fruits that are high in potassium help your body recover from the impacts of too much alcohol the night before.
Avocados
Frequently making the lists of the best foods for hangovers is avocados. You might not think of avocados as being good for a hangover, but avocados contain a lot of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that help your body recover from a late night at the bar with friends.
Salmon
We know, you might not immediately think about a nice piece of fish after a long night of drinking, but salmon contains everything your body needs to fight off the effects of last night’s overindulgence.
Chicken Noodle Soup
You didn’t read that wrong, chicken noodle soup is great for hangovers. Chicken noodle soup is perhaps the most “traditional” comfort food to eat when you’re feeling sick with a cold or flu. So, it stands to reason this classic soup is also a top choice across lists of best foods for hangovers.
Some will tell you the whole "hair of the dog" thing. But the real is you're body is craving all of the sugar in booze, so that's why you're hurting so bad. Punish yourself for a good time? We've all (legally of course) have done it. Put on Netflix, get some food and rest the day away if you can. Because lets be real...you'll do it again and sooner then "I'll never do this again." than later.
