Tom Petty's still packing them in but it was a heartbreaker for fans on Saturday night when fire marshals decided to shut his gig down. "The Los Angeles Times" says authorities moved in to move out an over capacity crowd at the historic Fonda Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard.
Petty apparently informed the crowd a little after 10:30 pm that city officials told them about 100 people either had to move to the balcony or leave the concert because of overcrowding. When no one took the bait, Petty stepped to the microphone during an instrumental break and told his fans the show was over. Petty and his band, the Heartbreakers, then left the stage, triggering boos from the crowd.
